I am a true Texan - having never lived outside the state! Born and raised in Houston, I have also lived in Austin, and now call DFW home. I am the youngest of two older, twin sisters, and both of my parents are native Texans.
I got my start in entertainment by telling jokes to family friends and putting on fashion shows in my parents' living room. I also studied ballet, tap, jazz, and modern dance for 13 years, as well as musical theater.
While in high school, I decided to combine my love for the theatrics and my talent for writing, and pursue a career in broadcast. While in college, I got my first radio job working in promotions. From that point on, I was hooked! I have done just about everything in radio from news reporting / producing for News Radio 740 KTRH and Praise 92.1 KROI in Houston, to traffic reporting for 104.1 KRBE in Houston, and have even been a website editor.
In my spare time, I enjoy smothering my new puppy with kisses and taking him to the dog park, taking in live music performances, cooking and baking, and catching up on all the great TV shows I miss while sleeping!

MTV LOOKING FOR A TWITTER JOCKEY
MTV, which introduced the concept of the VJ when it launched in the 1980s, is now looking for a TJ, short for a Twitter jockey. The TJ will interact with MTV's audience via Twitter and be a liaison between viewers and network execs, as well as report on MTV events and appear on-air periodically. MTV has so far come up with 18 potential candidates and is asking viewers to find 20 more. The 20 people will compete in online challenges this summer to reveal their personalities and see how they connect with Twitter followers, and then five finalists will compete on a live show on August 8th, when fans will pick who the new TJ will be.
There's a kid named Lin Yu Chun who's being called "the next Susan Boyle." Which is a lame compliment when you think about it, since it's like saying someone is 'the next chubby nobody who can sing despite being terrifically unattractive.' On a singing competition in Taiwan called "Super Star Avenue," he nailed the Whitney Houston version of "I Will Always Love You." And I mean NAILED it. You'd never know that he looks like a miniature Asian version of Newt Gingrich with a bowl cut.

Fox has officially cancelled 24!Kiefer Sutherland issued a statement, "This has been the role of a lifetime, and I will never be able to fully express my appreciation to everyone who made it possible. While the end of the series is bittersweet, we always wanted '24' to finish on a high note, so the decision to make the eighth season our last was one we all agreed upon." He's won a Golden Globe, an Emmy, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and a Golden Satellite Award for his work on the long-running show.

Sandra Bullock has left Texas, and returned to Hollywood.She’s been hiding out in a Hollywood Hills home where she lived before marrying Jesse James. Another homewrecker, Melissa Smith, has come out and said she had a two-year relationship with Jesse James while he was married to Sandra!
Melissa is a stripper who heard from Jesse on MySpace in September of 2006. He saw a photo of her posing in front of a car at the West Coast Choppers party and contacted her.

He Cheated on Sandra Bullock with HER!?
News came out yesterday that Sandra Bullock's husband, Jesse James, cheated on her for 11 months while she was filming "The Blind Side." The news prompted the Best Actress Oscar winner to cancel her appearance at the movie's London premiere.
Bullock released a statement apologizing for pulling out of the premiere. "Due to unforeseen personal reasons a trip abroad to support 'The Blind Side' has been deemed impossible at this time," Bullock said in the statement. "I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your continued support of the film."

Meanwhile, "People" magazine reports Bullock has moved out of the Southern California house she shares with James. Box Office News
Is there or isn’t there? A sequel to “Avatar” is under consideration according to producer Jon Landau. He says he has had conversations with James Cameron about it. One thing that is certain, the two say they will never make another 2-D movie and will likely focus solely on 3-D films- comparing it to the difference of black and white and color. They are also looking into several other movies, one including one based around a futuristic Japanese novel, “Battle Angel Alita.” It’s about a female cyborg’s self-discovery quest.

Kanye Moment at the Oscars
The most riveting face-off during Sunday's Oscar ceremony came early: When producer Elinor Burkett wrestled the microphone away from director-producer Roger Ross Williams after their film, "Music by Prudence," won for best documentary short. She says they have had a dispute about the movie that had already been settled in court, but are not speaking. So there was no discussion of who would accept the award. She said he ran up to the stage, and she tried to make her way up there but Williams’ mother was blocking her with her cane!

Twilight Vamp for PETA
I am not a huge fan of the movie Twilight, nor do I lust over the Twi-hunks BUT Kellan Lutz has got my attention. Lutz, who plays Emmet Cullen in the Twilight Saga, wants everyone to adopt animals and stop buying them. Sage advice if you ask me. But I am not sure if his vampy seductiveness can convince the Twi-hards, well rather their parents, to stop by a shelter and adopt a pet. Nice try.
Smelly Pirate
Johnny Depp has been named The Sexiest Man Alive at least more than once, but he apparently isn't a fan of personal hygiene and he smells! A "source" says he rarely showers, and his girlfriend is also not a fan of personal cleanliness.
Tiger's Apology Didn't Help
A PR firm has analyzed data from Twitter, Facebook, blogs, and other media outlets and compared opinions from before Tiger's apology and afterward and has found that public opnion has continued to fall. His approval rating is a NEGATIVE 1.2 - that's the lowest ever for a celebrity, company, or brand! The company says IF the public believed his apology was sincere, then we would have seen a rise in his approval rating.

Immediately after Woods' speech, his mother Kultida Woods, who rarely speaks to the press, told the media that she was proud of her son and had told him so during their long hug. Because of his deal with NBC, Conan O’Brien is unable to launch a new TV show until this September . . . but that doesn't mean he's planning on vanishing until then. The Associated Press reports that an anonymous source told them that Conan is considering a comedy tour to keep him busy until he works out a return to TV. The tour could target college campuses and / or Europe.

Star-studded V-Day Movie Number One!
The all-star comedy "Valentine's Day" felt the love at the box office this weekend – it was number one! The romantic comedy featuring an ensemble cast with names like Ashton Kutcher, Julia Roberts, and Jamie Foxx raked in more than 52-million dollars. Almost 70 percent of the film's audience was female, by the way. The movie I saw, "Percy Jackson & The Olympians" took second place with just over 31-million dollars, while "The Wolfman" starring Oscar-winner Benicio Del Toro took in more than 30-million dollars to place third for the weekend. "Avatar" is still making money - pulling in fourth place with 22-million dollars over the weekend. "Dear John" took fifth place with more than 15-million dollars.
Here are the top five films at the North American box office for the three-day weekend beginning February 12th.

Kevin Smith Too Fat
Director Kevin Smith says he has been deemed too fat to fly. The director behind "Clerks," "Chasing Amy" and "Dogma" has taken to his Twitter page to share his experience of being kicked off a Southwest Airlines flight Saturday for being too "fat" and "thus creating a safety risk."
The airline has confirmed the incident. In a statement, Southwest acknowledged that Smith had originally purchased two seats on a flight from Oakland to Burbank, but that a last minute change of plans forced the 39-year-old director to fly standby where there was only a single seat available when it came time to board. Southwest's statement read, in part, quote, "Our pilots are responsible for the Safety and comfort of all Customers on the aircraft and therefore, made the determination that Mr. Smith needed more than one seat to complete his flight. Our Employees explained why the decision was made, accommodated Mr. Smith on a later flight, and issued him a 100-dollar Southwest travel voucher for his inconvenience."
Southwest added, quote, "As soon as we saw the first Tweet from Mr. Smith, we contacted him personally to apologize for his experience and to address his concerns on both Twitter and with a personal phone call." Smith, however, doesn't appear to be taking Southwest's apology very well, offering a string of profanity-laced Twitter posts in response to Southwest's public mea culpa. In one tweet addressed to, quote "PR-Challenged Fatty-Haters" at Southwest Airlines, the director calls the airline's apology, quote, "insulting."

They may be broken up, but Taylor and Taylor are in a movie together and they’re kissing! Director of Valentine’s Day, Garry Marshall says, "I always start with the kissing scenes. The first thing they did was kiss. The first three were nice. By the fourth I think they started going together. I don't know what the hell happened, but somewhere in the fifth or sixth take they were dating."
Murray in Ghostbusters 3
Bill Murray will be back for Ghostbusters 3 but not as you think, he recently said, “I'll come back in Ghostbusters 3 only if I get to be a ghost. I said to them, 'I'll do it if you kill me off in the first reel.' So, now they are going to have me as a ghost in the film. The first 45 minutes of the original Ghostbusters is some of the funniest stuff ever made. The second one was disappointing, because the special-effects guys took over. I had something like two scenes– and they're the only funny ones in the movie.” Two unnamed writers from the hit series The Office have been working on a script for quite some time, and original director Ivan Reitman, as well as Sigourney Weaver, have both confirmed they'll be back to start shooting this year.

Avatar has been dethroned! After 7 weeks at number one at the box office, Dear John has taken the top spot. Dear John tells the story of a long-distance romance between a soldier fighting overseas after the 9/11 attacks and his girlfriend back home. Based on a novel by The Notebook author Nicholas Sparks, Dear John drew a crowd that was 84 percent female and nearly two-thirds under the age of 21. In third place was From Paris With Love.
Tiger Out of Rehab
Woods checked himself out of the sex rehab clinic this past Friday (Feb. 5). His wife, Elin, flew out to the facility in Mississippi so they could fly home to Florida together. According to TMZ.com, he will play golf again on March 22nd and 23rd at the Isleworth Golf & Country Club. He also plans to play The Masters after that.
Lautner as Stretchy Super Hero?
Taylor Lautner has signed on to star in an upcoming action film about the bendable childhood figurine, Stretch Armstrong. A rep for Universal Pictures said, "In the past two years, Taylor has emerged as a real star at the global box office. Sheen’s Car Off a Cliff
Charlie Sheen isn't too spooked by the Friday (Feb. 5) incident where his Mercedes-Benz was stolen and later found at the bottom of a ravine. Sheen was laughing when he told reporters, "How do I put this? Somebody stole it from my driveway and then pushed it off a cliff." He continued, "That's pretty much it in a nut shell and it's an interesting way to start your day! Luckily nobody was hurt." Meanwhile, Sheen and his wife Brooke Mueller are trying to get a restraining order thrown out so they can patch things up and move back in with each other.

Idol Controversy
FINALLY Idol gets interesting with a good controversy! Idol contestant Nicci Nix claimed that she flew 14 hours all the way from Italy to get to the Denver auditions. She spoke with a super high voice and in an Italian accent– even Simon joked that she took some helium – but she sang in a much deeper voice. TMZ has uncovered some skeletons in her closet: this isn’t her first time on TV AND she is American, has no accent, and doesn’t have that high of a voice! She has previously appeared on the show “Making the Band” and “Fear Factor”. They even found a music video she made on YouTube!

An insider said that producers of the hit Fox show say Stern, America's highest-paid radio personality, is their top choice to take over from Cowell, who leaves at the end of this season. They approached the King of All Media after he repeatedly mentioned on-air that his exclusive Sirius XM Radio deal expires next January.
Final word on Brittany Murphy Death
Despite her family's insistence to the contrary, drugs did play a role in Brittany Murphy's death. A coroner announced on Thursday (February 4th) that the 32-year-old actress died from multiple drug intoxication, pneumonia and "iron deficiency anemia" in what has been deemed an accidental death.
Local Actress Passes
Frances Reid, the North Texas native who went to Soap Opera fame, has died at the age of 95. Reid was best known for playing Alice Horton on daytime TV's Days of Our Lives from its 1965 debut until her final appearance in 2007 when she was 93-years-old. She was born in Wichita Falls in 1914, although as a child her family moved to California. Reid received two Daytime Emmy nominations during her time on Days of our Lives including one in 1979 for Outstanding Supporting Actress and an Outstanding Lead Actress nod in 1987. In 2004, she received a Lifetime Achievement Award.

A day after George Clooney was named a contender for best actor at the Academy Awards, Empire magazine deemed his 1997 flick, Batman and Robin "the most disastrous film ever made."

Avatar On Top of the World
Avatar is now the all time highest-grossing film at the domestic box office. The movie has made more than $601 million in North America, edging past director James Cameron's own Titanic, whose $600.8 million total occupied the top spot for twelve years.
The sci-fi blockbuster is already the all-time number one worldwide. It broke Titanic's domestic record late Tuesday(February 2nd), after just 47 days of release, and on the same day it received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture.
CJ on DWTS?
Pamela Anderson is reportedly in talks to be one of the contestants on the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars. RadarOnline.com reports that Anderson and the show have all agreed to terms for a deal, although it won't be officially announced for a while. *I bet we see a cheesy Baywatch dance routine!
Conan O’Brien Not with FOX Yet…
Conan and Fox are in talks, but a concrete deal sounds very far away. According to his NBC severance, O'Brien can start a new talk show in September. Although there have been rumors about a deal with Fox, nothing has been finalized . . . yet.
According to Hollywood Reporter, News Corp. Chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch says, "Sure, there have been some conversations," but adds that "no real negotiations" have taken place. Apparently there are different options on the table, and if Fox can find a way to "make a profit," the network "would do it in a flash."

Get LOST TV!
After six years of filming LOST in Hawaii, Matthew Fox says he is done with TV. He says, "My family will move to Oregon, back to the country I love. I miss the four seasons climate. We're building a house up there and I'll be closer to my brothers and my mother. Our kids will be closer to their first cousins." Apparently LOST paid him enough money to retire – must be nice.
Brad and Renee NOT Engaged
Bradley Cooper has not proposed to girlfriend Renee Zellweger. When confronted with the engagement rumors, the actor told Extra, "That's so crazy. It's nuts the stuff that's made up." Oscar Noms Are In!
The nominations for the 82nd Annual Academy Awards were announced today. The nominees include "Avatar," "The Blind Side," "District 9," "An Education," "The Hurt Locker," "Inglourious Basterds," "Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' By Sapphire" "A Serious Man," "Up," and "Up In The Air." The Oscars are widening the field this year, expanding the Best Picture category from five to ten nominees. Having more movies competing for the Best Picture honor is a return to how the Oscars used to be formatted when the awards ceremony launched more than 80 years ago. Steve Martin and "30 Rock" star Alec Baldwin have been tapped to share hosting duties. The Oscars will be presented on March 7th.

RIP TORN ARRESTED
Rip Torn was arrested on Friday night for allegedly breaking into a bank while drunk and armed with a loaded gun. TMZ.com reports that police responded to an alarm at a Connecticut bank where they found the "highly intoxicated" actor "with a loaded revolver." He supposedly got in through a shattered window – which they think he broke himself. He will be in court today.

Brad Pittand Angelina Jolie attempted to squash rumors of a break-up by showing up to the Director’s Guild of America Awards Sat. night. "I Am...Sasha Fierce" won Best Contemporary R&B Album, while Beyonce's rendition of Etta James' "At Last" claimed Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance. Beyonce, however, was unable to capture the night's biggest title, Album of the Year. That honor went to Taylor Swift's hit record "Fearless." Parisand Prince Jackson, Michael Jackson's two oldest kids, delivered a touching speech when they accepted a lifetime achievement award at the Grammy Awards tonight.

Paula Returning to Prime-Time?
Paula Abdul is rumored to be a judge on 'Dancing with the Stars' on ABC - to the tune of a million-dollar contract!
According to the proposed deal, ABC would still allow Paula to do The X Factor with Simon Cowell, a collaboration that seems certain to happen. Sources told TMZ that Simon and Paula met a week ago to discuss the show, and it looks like a done deal.
In related Idol news, there is also talk of Sony Music boss, Tommy Mottola, will replace Simon Cowell for next season.

Orlando Bloom will not be a part of the fourth installment of Pirates of the Caribbean. The actor told Extra, "Will's swimming with the fishes." He had a 42-percent increase in viewers in the 18-to-49-year-old demographic tuned for "The Tonight Show" on Tuesday night, compared to the previous evening's broadcast. The surge in interest followed the issuance of a public letter by O'Brien to the, quote, "People of Earth" earlier in the day.

There's also a Conan Facebook craze this week. A number of "Tonight Show" staffers and Peacock network employees have replaced their existing Facebook photos with an artist's rendering of O'Brien. Conan Puts His Foot Down!
It's still unclear how NBC's late night lineup will play out, but one thing is certain: Conan O'Brien will not host the Tonight Show at midnight. Bachelor Drama Update!
Rozlyn Papa has come out and confirmed that she IS the scandal-plagued Bachelor contestant kicked off the show for having an inappropriate relationship with a producer -- however she contends nothing sexual was going on between the two.
The 28-year-old model told RadarOnline.com, "What they mean by inappropriate relationship is not what inappropriate relationship means in the real world," adding, "I did not have a sexual relationship with a producer on the show." She clarified, "I had a relationship with someone on the show that didn't benefit them. This is a TV show and it's made for entertainment, but it is a far cry from reality. I know that things on television weren't always as they seemed, but I had no idea the extent of the show manipulation."

One of the women claiming to have had an extramarital relationship with Tiger Woods is saying he also had affairs with MEN! According to RadarOnline.com, Loredana Jolie Ferriolo is writing a book about Woods in which she claims to have witnessed the golf champ engage in gay encounters with other men. Ferriolo says her book will tell how she and Tiger, quote, "came about" and dish on his, quote, "healthy appetite for arranged sex, threesomes, girls next door, girl-girl, and an answer to all the rumors surrounding Woods' sexuality." She's reportedly seeking a seven-figure deal for her tell-all. A rep tells RadarOnline.com that Loredana is "in talks with a number of publishing companies" regarding a book deal.
A celebrity catfight broke out over two orphaned dogs earlier this week. Police were called to the Los Angeles home of late Johnson & Johnson heiress Casey Johnson. Three of Johnson's gal pals, Nicky Hilton, Bijou [[ bee-zhoo ]] Phillips and Tila Tequila, were fighting over who would take care of Johnson's dogs. Tequila told reporters that Phillips and Hilton don't care about the pups, and quote, "they are putting them to sleep to bury with Casey." Phillips denied the claim.

Go Sandy! Sandra Bullock's hit film The Blind Side has become the first movie in history to make over $200 million with only one top-billed female star. Variety reported on Tuesday (January 5th) that none of Bullock's past films -- in which she was the only star actress -- hit the $200 million mark, a feat that hadn't even been accomplished by the likes of Reese Witherspoon, Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep or Angelina Jolie. Meanwhile, according to Dan Fellman, Warner Brothers president of domestic distribution, "We're not even done. I think Blind Side has another $30 million left."

Just when I thought that The Bachelor was all about drama between all the girls competing for the Bachelor, apparently one of the contestants had her eye on one of the producers! Check out this crazy story:
A contestant on the latest Bachelor season was kicked off and a producer fired after the two were caught having an affair -- a situation host Chris Harrison calls one of the most "uncomfortable" scandals he's ever seen. Ahead of last night's premiere, Harrison said in a radio interview, "It was embarrassing for us . . . incredibly unfortunate, [and] horrible decisions were made. This is something that we took very seriously and it's something that we couldn't just sit by."
Although it's general show policy for scandals to unfold in their own time, Harrison said that he and the production crew informed Bachelor Jake Pavelka of the illicit behavior. He explained, "This was the rare time that before I had to go talk to the girl, Jake and then the women, I had lawyers, psychologists, producers, executives saying, 'Okay, these are the words you can say.' It was intense. It was a wild night."
Harrison's unsure if the departed contestant and producer are still together, but joked that if they are, "Would that count on our tally as one of our couples?"
