Ben Ryan’s Bachelor One Bowl Brownies

Many folks are cooking from home during these trying times and I’m no different.  I had a few vacation days to burn and during that time my roommate and I did some cooking.  Last night we had salmon and while I don’t normally opt for dessert I was craving some.  I decided to make some brownies from scratch and it ended up being very easy.  Here is the recipe and I hope you enjoy!

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
1/2 cup flour
1 cup sugar
2 large or 3 small eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla (didn’t have vanilla, used two teaspoons of whiskey and sprinkled cinnamon in the mixture)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter (I use Kerrygold)

Preheat over to 350 degrees.

Since these are one bowl brownies I combined all the dry ingredients into together.  After it’s well mixed and the clumps are out, add your eggs (make sure you beat them first).  While mixing the eggs I added the melted butter followed by the vanilla. Or in my case, bourbon. You can also use any sweet liquor.  I recommend adding cinnamon to the mix, adds a little more flavor!  Mix well but don’t over work the mixture.

Grease an 8×8 pan, I used more Kerrygold butter for this.  Now it’s time to add your brownie mix to the pan. Make sure the brownie mix is even across and place in the oven for 18-22 minutes depending on how you like your brownies.   Let cool and I hope you enjoyed my bachelor one bowl brownies!
