Bismeaux Records is proud to announce the “Deep in the Heart: Big Songs for Little Texans Everywhere” CD, which will be released on September 18th, featuring all Texas music stars singing their favorite children’s songs to benefit the McLane Children’s Scott & White in Temple, Texas. Great talents including Pat Green, Stoney LaRue, Randy Rogers Band, Aaron Watson, Reckless Kelly, Jack Ingram, Jason Boland, Asleep at the Wheel, Bonnie Bishop, Fred Andrews, Cory Morrow, Josh Abbott, Cody Canada and more!

The project was born in Houston, Texas, during a benefit concert in 2010. “Deep in the Heart” founders and co-producers, Brett Danaher and Clayton Corn, both longtime members of Pat Green’s band, started asking around to find artist who would be willing to participate. The response was overwhelming. “As for the record itself, we didn’t have a “family band” per se, but what we did have was an extended family of Texas artists, many of whom have children, that were willing to graciously donate their time and talents to this project,” says, Brett Danaher. “They are seriously big hearted folks that we are proud to call friends.”
The next step was to head to Austin, and ask nine-time GRAMMY Award-winning artist Ray Benson to come on board as the project’s executive producer and to open the doors to his world famous Bismeaux Recording Studio. Benson immediately agreed. For the next year, artist after artist started recording at Bismeaux. Says Benson, “Texas music brings out the kid in all of us. We had a good time in the studio, and all the singers donated their services for this worthy cause. I can’t wait for everyone to hear the results.”

It was Colt McCoy’s participation that drew the artists and producers to Scott & White. Corn says, “In keeping with the Texas theme, we thought it would be a wonderful fit and the perfect choice for a local hospital to be the beneficiary of this project.”

We were also lucky to have Colt record a promotional spot for the project at Bismeaux Studios and he even sang a verse on the record’s title track “Deep in the Heart!”

And, if you know a budding artist, “Deep In the Heart” is looking for a talented child (maybe yours?) to create the album cover! Children of all ages can submit their artwork for consideration. The deadline is August 13th. You can download the template at:

“We are very much looking forward to releasing “Deep in the Heart” and hope Texans everywhere, big and small, have as much fun listening to it as we’ve had making it,” says Clayton Corn. “We believe this could be the definitive children’s record for this generation of Texas Country music fans.”
