BATTLE OF THE BANDS RULES
NAME OF SPONSOR (S):
95.9 The Ranch, Tumbleweed B-Que, Fort Worth Sound, Kona Guitars and DP Studios
(Hereinafter collectively referred to as “Sponsor”)
ELIGIBILITY:
Entrants must be legal residents of the 50 United States or The District of Columbia, 18 years of age or older at time of entry with a valid drivers license and/or hold legal identification documentation.
Any individuals (including but not limited to employees, consultants, independent contractors and interns) who have, within the past six months, performed services for 95.9 The Ranch, any organizations responsible for sponsoring, fulfilling, administering, advertising or promoting the contest/sweepstakes or supplying the prize, and/or the respective parent, subsidiary, affiliated and successor companies, and immediate family and household members of such individuals, are not eligible to enter or play. “Immediate family members” shall mean parents, stepparents, children, stepchildren, siblings, stepsiblings, or spouses. “Household members” shall mean people who share the same residence at least three months a year.
CONTEST DESCRIPTION:
Each week beginning on Thursday, February 11, 2010 through Thursday, March 25, 2010, 95.9 The Ranch will host a battle of the bands competition at Tumbleweed Bar-B-Que in Cresson, Tx.
Contestants:
95.9 The Ranch representatives will choose 12 qualified bands to compete in the Battle of the Bands at Tumbleweed Bar-B-Que. 95.9 The Ranch and or Tumbleweed Bar-B-Que representatives will contact qualified contestants to coordinate scheduling and production details.
Each contestant must consist of a minimum 3 piece band ensemble…must be able to plug in and play into PA System at Tumbleweed Bar-B-Que – NO ACOUSTIC PIECES OR SETUP. Only one drum kit will be used each night. Contestants will choose drum set from one of the two participating bands.
Weekly contestants will perform a 45-minute set each of cover, original or a combination of material. Set time at semi-finals may be adjusted to accommodate three acts.
CONTEST DATES:
Week 1: Thursday, February 11, 2010 – 2 Acts – Winner advances to semi-finals on Week 4
Week 2: Thursday, February 18, 2010 – 2 Acts – Winner advances to semi-finals on Week 4
Week 3: Thursday, February 25, 2010 – 2 Acts – Winner advances to semi-finals on Week 4
Week 4: Thursday, March 4, 2010 – 3 Acts – Winner advances to Finals on Saturday, April 3, 2010
Week 5: Thursday, March 10, 2010 – 2 Acts - Winner advances to semi-finals on Week 8
Week 6: Thursday, March 17, 2010 – 2 Acts – Winner advances to semi-finals on Week 8
Week 7: Thursday, March 25, 2010 – 2 Acts – Winner advances to semi-finals on Week 8
Week 8: Thursday, April 1, 2010 – 3 Acts – Winner advances to Finals on April 3, 2010 (6pm-8pm)
Finals: Saturday, April 3, 2010 – 2 Acts – (6p-8p) Finals
WEEKLY SCHEDULE:
6:00 pm: 95.9 The Ranch sets up table
DJ Arrives
Station representatives will coordinate with Contestants
7:00pm - Contest begins with each act performing a 45-minute set.
JUDGES:
Three judges will be onsite each week.
One (1) Judge will be provided by Tumbleweed Bar-B-Que
Two (2) Judges will be provided by 95.9 The Ranch Radio Station.
VOTING METHODS:
Overall results will be determined by a variety of methods including by not limited to:
Judges determination
Audience Participation by Applause. Judges will take into consideration the noise
supported to the artists by the audience’s applause.
95.9 The Ranch has the ultimate decision as to who the Winner is in case of a tie or unclear circumstances.
95.9 The Ranch representatives have the absolute final say as to who the winner is.
A representative of 95.9 The Ranch will announce the Weekly Winner.
The final Winner will be awarded their prizes at Tumbleweed Bar-B-Que on April 3, 2010.
PRIZES TO BE AWARDED WINNER:
10-Hour Recording Session with Bart Rose at Fort Worth Sound ($1000 value)
Photo Shoot with DP Studios ($400 value)
An acoustic guitar and a base guitar from Kona Guitars ($1500 value)
95.9 The Ranch and Tumbleweed Bar-B-Que, or any parties affiliated with them, are not responsible for any error in registration and or in the voting process. All decisions on prizes and winners are final and are not subject to review based on allegations of voting error, improper voting, and/or level of attendance during time of performance. 95.9 the Ranch and Tumbleweed Bar-B-Que reserve the right to refuse anyone entrance into the contest. Winners are picked based on audience applause and appointed judges vote. Contest will last 8 weeks.
RELEASES:
By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these official rules and the decisions of the Sponsor(s) and the contest administrator, which shall be final in all respects.
By participating in this contest and accepting any prize that they may win, entrants agree to release 95.9 The Ranch, Tumbleweed Bar-B-Que, Fort Worth Sound, M&M Merchandisers, Inc. (Kona Guitars), DP Studios, their parent, subsidiary, affiliated and successor companies, advertising and promotion agencies and prize suppliers, and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives and employees, as well as each of their respective successors, representatives and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all actions, claims, injury, loss or damage arising in any manner, directly or indirectly, from participation in this contest and/or acceptance or use of the prize.
Entrants authorize the Released Parties to use their name, voice, likeness, biographical data, city and state of residence and entry materials in programming or promotional material, worldwide in perpetuity, or on a winner’s list, if applicable, without further compensation unless prohibited by law. Sponsor is not obligated to use any of the above- mentioned information or materials, but may do so and may edit such information or materials, at Sponsor’s sole discretion, without further obligation or compensation.
To claim prize, winner must sign and return affidavit of eligibility/compliance with rules, publicity/liability release and indemnifications all within the time period specified by Sponsor. Void where prohibited. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process and to cancel, terminate, modify and/or suspend the contest in the event of tampering or other circumstances, including but not limited to acts of God or civil disturbance that render it impractical or impossible to complete or fulfill the contest as originally planned.
95.9 The Ranch has the right to change and/or alter these rules at any time throughout contest period without prior written notification.
