The power of social media is insane sometimes.  I’d never heard of Reid Farris until my buddy sent me Snapchats of him playing in the parking lot of a venue.  After that I just had to reach out and get my hands on some studio recordings.

Reid is truly locally brewed growing up and attending high school in North Richland Hills, TX.  Upon graduation he attended Texas State University in San Marcos which is where he began pickin’ and grinnin’ freshman year.  I mean, how else do you pick up the ladies in college?!  After college Reid bummed (not literally) around Austin before returning to the FW/D in late 2013.

As far as songwriting goes, Reid pulls inspiration from all over.  His own experiences to those of friends and family or stories he’s read, the goal is for people to see things from his perspective.  Did I mention he also looks a lot like BJ Barham?  In all seriousness Reid is a great musician and even better person.  Catch a show and shake his hand, I bet you’ll agree!   I’m really diggin’ his current single, Muddy Water.
