Fort Worth Artist Showcase at AMERICANAFEST!

Brock DeWald – 11:30am

Brock DeWald is a singer-songwriter out of Fort Worth, and brings a blend of folk Americana, traditional country, and red dirt music. Having grown up with influences of classic country, classic rock, and gospel music, he brings soulful smooth tones always from the heart. Music speaks in ways beyond words, telling stories of authenticity, struggle, and hope. The urge to write pours out of the overflow of his experiences. Songs of gratitude and grief all presented with a happy satisfaction. This is where Brock connects with people. Time and again, audiences resonate with the stories he sings.

 David Tribble – 12:10pm

Singer, songwriter from Texarkana, David Tribble now calls Fort Worth, Texas home. He started scribbling thoughts in a journal as a teenager and taught himself to play guitar during his college years and in the church house. He is a former middle school science teacher/coach but kept honing his songwriting and sound between and even during classes. His music spans across the Americana, folk, and indie scenes as a winsome troubadour with parables of his own as a husband and father. David’s sound comes with his heart on his sleeve, whether solo or with his band, he sings with compassion and conviction settled by grace and truth. His fourth studio album, “Sunset Sunrise” is out now.

September Moon – 12:50pm

September Moon is a high energy Texas band that creatively blends country, rock, and Americana into one unique sound connecting with audiences of all ages and backgrounds. The band prides itself in delivering lively shows with catchy melodies and clever lyrics led by the impressive vocals of Katherine Brown. In September of 2022, the band released their debut full-length album, which charted 5 singles on the Billboard-recognized Texas Regional Radio Report (including their first top 40 song). They were awarded “Texas Country Music Showdown” winner by the Texas Country Music Association, voted “Best New Band” by the Texas Internet Radio Awards. September Moon is quickly rising as one of North Texas’ most exciting new acts in Americana and Country music.

Simon Flory – 1:30pm

Simon Flory is a Fort Worth local, whose sound evokes voices not much heard on radio waves, a stew of early country, gospel and the best of classic Nashville. whose music is suffused with the elements of his childhood – days spent in the fields, church sings, gravel roads, and genuine mule drawn molasses. Even his guitar playing captures the rhythmic tumble of clawhammer banjo and Appalachian fiddle (on both of which he’s adept). Flory has played shows around Texas, touring throughout Scandinavia, U.K., Europe, Alaska and the continental U.S., and has had songwriting and studio sessions with the likes of Charley Crockett, Summer Dean, Vincent Neil Emerson.

Cory Cross and The Burden – 2:10pm

Texas native Cory Cross has been honing his specific brand of country music for over a decade. Getting his start playing guitar in church, Cory began crafting his own songs after being inspired by songwriters like Townes Van Zandt and John Prine. Now making the rounds at dance halls and dives across Texas, as well as sold out shows in Los Angeles and New York City, Cory and his band put on a performance that is equal parts rough-n-rowdy and tenderly intimate.

 Vandoliers – 2:55pm

Vandoliers are a uniquely Texas band, distilling the Lone Star State’s vast and diverse musical identity into a raucous, breakneck vibe that’s all their own. After spending much of the last three years furiously writing and recording music, this Dallas-Fort Worth six-piece is back with The Vandoliers, a new album that proves these rowdy, rollicking country punks are tighter, more cohesive and more sonically compelling than ever. This impressive fourth album builds to what is the Vandoliers’ most cohesive effort to date without sacrificing any of the distinct identity that makes the band work. Few bands can bring together the square toes and the steel toes quite like the Vandoliers

The Vintage Yell –  3:40pm

The Vintage Yell are a duo from Fort Worth, Texas, whose sound can be described as soulful Americana, but it goes much deeper than that. Chris Raspante and Jesse Spradlin met while working in the studio on Jesse’s solo material. They worked so well together they later decided to form a band. Recently signed to Mesquite Street Records, The Vintage Yell has opened for prominent Texas bands including Kin Faux and Whiskey Myers. Together, they form an incredible duo with outstanding vocals, great songs, and the musicianship to back it up.

Jack Barksdale – 4:20pm

Jack Barksdale is a folk/americana singer/songwriter from Fort Worth, Texas. Inspired by folk, rock and blues legends, Jack started performing original music at the age of nine. He tours nationally and wows audiences with lyrics wise beyond his years. In October 2023 Jack launched a 7-song instrumental EP entitled Phantom Trails. Earlier in 2023 Jack released a single “Dreamer” which was added to Spotify’s Emerging Americana Playlist. His previous single “Gone” has garnered well over 2.6 million streams on Spotify and was featured on Apple Music’s ‘Southern Craft’ playlist. In March 2022, he released his first full length album “Death of a Hummingbird,” and he will release a new EP entitled “Out of Order” in September 2024.

Lorena Leigh – 5:05pm

“Cowgirl Mermaid” Lorena Leigh hails from the Lone Star State, a singer-songwriter / producer who weaves elements of Shania Twain’s country charm, Maggie Rogers’ indie-folk allure, Alanis Morissette’s raw emotion, and Spice Girls energy into her music. Upbeat and soulful, her whimsical underwater rodeo and high-energy live performances have captivated a growing fanbase. Rooted in a childhood love for country music, her influences give rise to catchy hooks, aquatic lyric narratives, and pedal-popped ukulele melodies laced with positivity.  Recent performance highlights include opening for Stevie Nicks & Little Big Town (Aspen Jazz Fest), Mountain Air Music Series (Ouray), Panther Island Pavilion (Fort Worth), official SXSW stage at the Container Bar (Austin), headlining at Downtown Cowtown, The Isis Theater (Fort Worth).

Angel White – 5:45pm

Angel White is a fifth-generation Texas Native and singer/songwriter who blends elements of folk, country, soul, and rock to create a sound that’s uniquely his, reflecting the vast landscapes of his upbringing and untamed spirit of the West. His debut release, GHOST OF THE WEST: VOLUME I, takes listeners on a journey through soulful melodies, captivating narratives, and introspective lyrics inspired by the wide-open spaces of his hometown, where his roots run deep with a family lineage of cowboys and century-old tradition of raising horses.

Cut Throat Finches – 6:30pm

An ironic name for a tiny bird with a giant Texas sound. This Americana-ish rock band shares an affection for indie/alt rock royalty and have been described as “what you would get if you dropped a big British band right in the heart of Texas”. They currently hold title of FWTX Mag’s “Best Live Band in Fort Worth TX” (Editors’ Choice). Singer-songwriter Sean Russell, a proud resident and advocate of the Fort Worth, Texas music scene, formed the band mid-2015 with a group of much-lauded players from the area (Taylor Tatsch – guitar, Eric Webb – keys, Draya Ruse – Drums, Rob Paine – bass). CTF just released their 4th studio album, “Unraveled” and are hitting the road through summer and fall of 2024.
